A quiet, automatic battery system sized for your house: no generator to start, no cords through the window, no fuel to haul. Pair it with new rooftop solar and Ontario pays up to $10,000 back.
What stays on when the power goes out
Up here, it doesn't take much. A branch comes down on one line and the furnace fan stops, the well pump goes quiet and the freezer starts counting. Winter-Ready Home Backup is a battery system that takes over by itself when the power drops, then recharges and waits for the next storm.
Backup time depends on battery size and which circuits are protected. We size every system to the loads you choose.
Nothing to start, nothing to plug in
Two ways to get winter-ready
Solar + battery, with Ontario's rebate. The Home Renovation Savings Program pays up to $5,000 for new rooftop solar ($1,000 per kW) and up to $5,000 more for a battery installed with it ($300 per kWh), each up to half the cost. The battery runs your home on stored sunshine every day and still backs up the house when the grid goes down.
Battery backup on its own. No solar yet, or already have panels? A battery can still protect your home, charging overnight when power is cheapest. This route doesn't qualify for the rebate, but it's ready this winter and solar can be added later.
We model your hydro data both ways, rebate with load displacement or no rebate with net metering, and show you which one actually pays better for your home.
Rebate terms from homerenovationsavings.ca (program requirements dated October 2025), checked October 2026. The program decides every application. Ground-mounted arrays and off-grid homes don't qualify.

That depends on the battery size and which circuits you protect. We pick the loads with you first (furnace fan, well pump, freezer and so on), then size the battery to them, so you know before you buy.
Yes, when it goes in with new rooftop solar. Ontario's Home Renovation Savings Program pays up to $5,000 for the solar and up to $5,000 for the battery, as long as the home uses load displacement instead of net metering and gets written pre-approval before anything is bought or installed. A battery on its own, or one added to existing solar, doesn't qualify.
Yes. The program wants the system built mainly to run your home on solar day to day, not only for backup. It still switches your protected circuits over automatically when the grid goes down.
Not for backup. A battery works on its own, charging overnight from the grid. You need new solar installed with it to get the rebate.
We'll look at your panel and roof, review your hydro usage and give you a straight answer on cost, rebate and payback. No pressure, no sales script. 249-878-5651 · info@honeybeesolar.ca
